Valerie Simmons, Assistant Director


Valerie Simmons  began her dance training at age 6 and has studied ballet, tap, jazz, pointe modern, hip hop and ballroom. She has trained under instructors such as Frank Hatchett of Broadway Dance Center, Jo Rowan, Gregory Hines,  as well as her mentors, the late Sylvia Manning the late legendary Al Gilbert, who she served as an assistant at various workshops during his later years. Valerie continues to teach his graded syllabus for the foundation of tap technique as a percursor to current, advanced rhythm tap style.

Valerie has taught tap master classes in the UK where she also trained in ballet, tap, jazz and vocal performance at Danceworks and Pineapple Studio in London as well as DanceEast in Ipswich. 

Valerie is a National award winning choreographer/instructor and her tap students have received national and international awards.  

Jennifer Bradley


 Jennifer Bradley is an award winning creative director from Houston, TX, she has an extensive background in dance, music videos, live stage productions, studio management, judging, film and print work. Jennifer developed her feats training at LA’s most prestigious studios such as Edge Performing Arts Center and Millennium Dance Complex. She has taken acting classes at Page Parkes Agency, participated in dance conventions, intensives and she became heavily involved in music industry conferences across the globe. Jennifer’s had the privilege to judge for 8 National Talent and Danceline Productions. The driven director shares her knowledge and skills teaching master classes, workshops and intensives with over two dozen studios and counting. Under Innovation By Jennifer LLC, Jennifer happily offers studio management services given her experience managing one the world’s leading franchise dance studios. At this time she’s been featured in over 15 music videos as seen on BET, MTV and VH1 including some of the industry's hottest artists such as UK artist Shelley Harland, Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Rick Ross and many more. Jennifer’s choreography has been showcased in music videos, The El Portal Theater in Los Angeles, California, The Hobby Center, Miss Texas Pageants, The International Film Festival, Great Day Houston, Health and Fitness Magazine Expo and various regional and national dance competitions. Jennifer is currently training students of all levels in hip hop, jazz, jazz funk, body conditioning, lyrical, heels and contemporary throughout The Greater Houston Area and beyond. Her passion for sharing her love of dance inspired her to create a dance convention; The Innovation Tour. She is thoroughly committed to uniting artists from all walks of life through the Innovation Tour one 8 count at a time.  

Mandy Mangum


 Mandy comes to us with a vast knowledge & excitement of studio & stage dancing. She had her own successful dance studio & National Champion competition team for 15 years. As a child she was a junior Olympic gymnast & spent many summers in New York at Broadway Dance Center & Joffrey Ballet School. Mandy attended the University of Texas as a dance major, danced with Ballet Austin & the San Antonio Silver Spur dancers. Upon returning to the Houston area, she started investing in her passions. Teaching, choreography, judging & master classes. She’s choreographed numerous national champion dances & always pushes the envelope when incorporating props & storylines in her pieces. Mandy is newly married & loves spending time & traveling with her “crew”. She also spends her time creating items for Rustic Revival 77, working with animals & loving on her 2 boxer puppies. She is thrilled for this new chapter & is ready to share her love of dance with new faces.

Devon Sells


Devon comes to use with an extensive background in the competitive dance work. She began competing at the age off 10 and competed throughout her years in college. 

She began her intensive training at several studios in the North Texas area at a young age. She studied and attended summer intensives at the Dallas Black Dance Academy and received scholarships for excellence in Modern and Jazz for several years. As a teen she was selected to be a Junior Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader and was able to not only dance with America’s Sweethearts several games a year, but perform with artist such as Tony Keith, leanne Rhimes, Destiny’s Child, Kelly Clarkson, and Carrie Underwood. In high school she was a member of the Marcus Marquette Drill Team and was Sr. Lietenant her senior Year. With her team she won several state titles and her officer line was awarded Grand Champions at state in 2009.

She attended LSU for college where she was a member of the 2010 UDA College Hip Hop IA National Campions, the LSU Tiger Girls. She furthered her hip hop studies by attending Monsters of Hip Hop where she received scholarships and was able to dance background for Drake during a private Super Bowl performance and Janelle Monae for a Texas Lotto Commercial. In 2013 she again had the chance to dance backup for Beyonce during her memorable Super Bowl performance in New Orleans. 

She now spends her time choreographing for studios and running her custom costume business. With years of training and coaching under her belt she is excited to bring her talents and creativity to The Movement Experience and work with our students!

Veronica Plys


Veronica Plys is from the Chicagoland area, where she trained at Midwest Ballet Theatre and The Joffrey Ballet as a Trainee. She has attended many intensives and workshops with the Joffrey Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Oklahoma City Ballet, The Glenda Brown Choreography Workshop, and the Americacan College Dance Festival. She completed her BFA in Dance at Mercyhurst University, and has performed as a company dancer with Manassas Ballet Theatre, SoMar Dance Works, and Mercyhurst Ballet Theatre. Currently Ms. Veronica is a company dancer with Ad Deum Dance, and teaches a variety of dance styles throughout the Houston area.

Arianna Cerda


Mrs. Arianna (Ari) was born and raised in San Antonio and is a proud mother of three. She has studied the art of ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, acro, hip hop and musical theater since the age of four.  

   She competed with dance from the age of eight to thirteen and as a child has starred in two San Antonio broadway shows, "The Nutcracker," and , "Sister Act 2."

   As she entered high school, she went a different direction and was a cheerleader.

   She then received her BA in Social Sciences in human behavior from the University of Houston Clear Lake.

Gyl Bednarek


Coach Gyl is our Gymnastics and Tumbling Instructor!
